[Citalaca chat-a: Ovo je poruka o vezima "chat-a" do Sarajeva od
svijeta. Pun prijevod doci - ed]
Krle - Sorry to keep bothering you with this business, which
should be handled by support. I've cc'd the message to the
cosysops. I'm also sending it via the chat, as another check.
Because the question is also important for the pending
missing-persons conference, I'm cc'ing to my PFS colleagues.
Your check messages to the chat (*) should have arrived at IGC by
now, but have not.
This reinforces my suspicion that there is an unintended firewall
between -ZG and -TZ (or -TZ and -SA) in regard to the chat.
Looking over the index of ZAMIR.CHAT, I see that we have never
gotten a direct posting from anyone at -SA or -TZ, tho
BISTRICA@zamir-zg posts regularly. I can't believe that no-one
there is interested in the chat...
I can do MAPS at -ZG but not at -SA. Would you have time to send
me the index of APC/ZAMIR/CHAT as you see it in Sarajevo? If
we've really got a problem, I'll follow up with the cosysops.
Thanks -- ed
* Nomenclature: The "chat" is supposed to consist of the
following linked conferences/lists/site:
(a) APC/ZAMIR/CHAT - the conference on ZTN
(b) ZAMIR.CHAT - on IGC
(c) ZAMIR-CHAT-L - the mailing list
(d) http://mediafilter.org/MFF/SJform.html &
http://mediafilter.org/sj/conf/Conf_Index.html
- send/receive URLS at the web site
We know that (b) - (d) are linked OK, and evidently (b) is
reflected completely at -ZG. The question is, what happens beyond
-ZG?
People at -SA and -TZ can always reach the chat by posting to
ZAMIR.CHAT@notes.igc.apc.org, even if they are not subscribed to
the list. They can also read the list by subscribing - sending
the message SUBSCRIBE ZAMIR-CHAT-L to MAJORDOMO@IGC.APC.ORG
If there is a problem with full reflection of the chat between
-SA and -ZG, the sysops could announce this, so that people could
at least take part thru their email. I've heard different stories
as to why personal email subscriptions to mailing lists are
discouraged/encouraged on ZTN; but if the conference links are be
unreliable (remember, we had the same problem with spe-pisma-l &
zamir/coordination), why not allow list subscriptions? People can
always unsubscribe if they find the volume too great & the
discussion not interesting.
