Hello: I'm a retired Oakland, California police officer headed for UN
police duty
in Bosnia. I plan to take my lap-top computer. What internet connections exist
there so that I can log on to the internet or WWW?

ESTABLISHING SMALL SUPPORT LINKS BETWEEN THE
UK AND YOUNG PEOPLE IN BOSNIA
AN INVITATION TO THE PEOPLE OF FORMER YUGOSLAVIA
Through small scale support projects and with the help
of the British media it is our hope to encourage
understanding, friendship and cooperation between young
people in Bosnia and the UK.
May we ask the following few questions?
* Have you any opportunities for people in Britain
to offer support that could enhance the lives of
children and young people in Bosnia? We could
possibly, provide books, education material or
other items that may be needed in your schools
and orphanages etc. Please tell us if we can
offer support in this way.
* Would young people in Bosnia appreciate contact
with people of a similar age in the UK? Please
let us know if you are interested in helping to
establish a network to encourage the linking of
young people as pen-friends.
* We have established links with areas of the
British media (television and magazines) who are
keen to help share the lives of young people in
Bosnia with people here in the UK. We would be
very grateful if you could pass on our
invitation to any children or young people in
Bosnia to write a short piece about their lives.
We would very much welcome an account in either
words or art of their experiences and feelings
on the current situation and also of their
hopes, dreams and fears for the future.
We feel that people in both Bosnia and the United
Kingdom have much to gain from working together,
building partnership for the future. It is our hope
that some of you may want to help us build these small
links.
