Hi Whoever
I used to come and stay at the Hotel Central with a group of people
from UK just before the war. I would love to find out if the hotel
and more importantly the staff survived. I send my best regards to
all there and will come again to stay this summer if it is possible.
Where can I find out about bringing groups to your city again??
love David

The tragedy in the former Yugoslavia is caused first and foremost by the
political elites in Serbia and Croatia who in the pursuit for power and
legitimacy manipulated the population by demagoguery and the promotion of
hatred and fear. Given their history of violence and totalitarianism, the
people of the region had little defense against the politics of hate.
Through the mechanism of self-fulfilling prophecy the violence and
bloodshed escalated and the ugly message of fear and hate - we can't live
together - has become a reality. The notion that this was a civil war
between ethnic or religious groups with a long history of conflict at
best represents a massive misunderstanding, at worst a self-serving lie
propagated by the "international community" to justify their abject failure.
