Hello Eric,
Since you sent this message via the web, I assume you have
access in France. You can look up the specifics on ZaMir Net
at http://MediaFilter.org/ZTN.
There you will find all the information you need including
dialup numbers for access to ZaMir Net in the various regions.
Don't expect to be cruising the www in Sarajevo....there is
no full time internet connection in place there at the moment
to my knowledge. That's why ZaMir Net exists....so at least
email messages can be sent and received.
You may have already been to Sarajevo by the time you read this,
so I hope you were able to connect your friends with ZaMir.

Truly, it is lamentable that in this day and age, the supposedly civilised
peoples
of the world can perpetrate the acts undertaken by the Serbs. Clearly, it
is a manifestation
of greed that has plagued us since time immemorial. It saddens me as an
American to see that
my country has been so inept at ending this useless conflict.
It saddens me as a human being to hear on the nightly news of the terror
and atrocities
committed daily. There is nothing so horrid as humanity's lack of
compassion. There is
nothing so evil as the greed and hatred that sick individuals as Slobodan
Milosevic and
Radovan Karadzic heap upon us. Truly, they are the Hitlers and Himmlers
of 1995. The crimes
of the Nazis were something that I had hoped would never be repeated
again, but unfortunately
the world of the nineties as the world of the thirties left the ragings of
madmen who would
have ethnic cleansing unheeded, and so we are left to pick up the rubble.
Sad and pitiable indeed that the United States, which claims to be a
bastion of protection
for those who live in fear and injustice, seems unable to do anything. We
may never exonerate
ourselves of the blame for these crimes, for we are an accessory to them.
