Whew! NATO finaly lived up to its promises. The Serbians deserve
everything they got. My "familly" in Sarajevo has to put up with this kind
of sickness every day. Now they get to finaly see it happen to the
criminals. I ony hope that the NATO forces will keep up the air campaign.

OF SARAJEVO FROM ARTILLERY GUNS AND ROCKET LAUNCHERS THROUGHOUT
LAST NIGHT AND EARLY ON TUESDAY.
THE COMMAND OF UN PEACE-KEEPERS HAS MADE NO RESPONSE SO FAR
TO ARTILLERY AND MORTAR FIRE ATTACKS ON SERB-CONTROLLED AREAS IN
SARAJEVO." (1)
"Muslim 120mm mortar targeted Grbavica, the Serb community
in the center of Sarajevo. The Muslims directed mortar, RPG and
small arms fire at Ilidza section of the Sarajevo front.
Muslim units continued attacking from the so-called 'safe area'
of Bihac." (2)
So this is the game: When the allies decided they wanted to
back Croatia, [because it already controlled the oil fields on
the Bosnia side of the Southwest border of Bosnia-Herzegovina
and, since they took the Krajina August 8th, the other side as
well], and the Bosniacs, practically the only remaining territory
controlled by them suddenly became "safe" areas. Now the reason
the Americans "support" the Bosniacs is to give the annihilation
of the Serbs, who might disagree with the ownership of the
Krajina and Western Slovenian oilfields, a "humanitarian" cover.
These events transpired very rapidly: It only became known
in the Western press of the existence of the Krajina oilfields
just a few days ago. The Serbs had 'called' at the peace table
and what the Bosniacs 'showed' was intransigence. When the
Americans realized the problem was on their side they stood up
with guns at the table:
"[US Assistant Secretary of State Richard] Holbrooke, . .is
now promoting Washington's latest effort to secure peace by
effectively partitioning Bosnia. The Sarajevo government rejects
any attempt to destroy the unity of the country. But the Bosnian
Serb "legislature," meeting on Mt. Jahorina in the early hours of
29 August, welcomed Holbrooke's efforts for "a durable and just
peace." Karadzic applauded the plan, saying earlier on Bosnian
Serb Radio that "the American initiative, as far as we know,
takes into account a maximum of Serb interests, and I hope our
parliament will welcome this offer favorably." (4)
Indeed they did:
"After a discussion on the US initiative for ending the
war in the former B-H, held on August 29, 1995 at a Republic
of Srpska (RS) Parliament session, the following conclusions
were adopted: 1. The National Assembly welcomes the US
initiative for a political solution to the conflict in the former
B-H and confirms the readiness of the RS to achieve a lasting
and just peace." (5)
As for how serious the Americans are in finding 'peace
through war' just examine their replacements for the death of
three diplomats on the road to Sarajevo last week--all military
or intelligence men:
"Attorney Roberts Owen, 69, has previously worked to try to
strengthen an alliance between Bosnia and Croatia. Also added to
the team: Brig. Gen. Donald Kerrick, director of the National
Military Intelligence Center at the Defense Department, who had
recently been working for the National Security Council; James
Pardew, director of the Pentagon's Balkan Task Force; and
Christopher Hill, office director for South-Central Europe at the
State Department and previously America's top diplomat in
Albania." (3)
Even the "office director", the "top diplomat in Albania"
among these military men had played his part as can be seen from
this report:
"Albanian Foreign Minister Alfred Serreqi, during the visit
to Tirana of his Egyptian counterpart, Amr Moussa, has stressed
again that sanctions against the rump Yugoslavia should not be
lifted unless the Kosovo conflict is resolved." (3)
President Dole comes to mind, as he recommended bringing the
question of Kosovo into negotiations. There's no limit to the
extent "peace talks" can be expanded on this principle while he's
waiting to lift the arms embargo. The only problem is the 2-4 day
bombardment of the Serbs is, according the Russian foreign
minister, ". . close to the elimination of the entire military
infrastructure of one side."
Besides this "exercise" of NATO forces in Bosnia, Eastern
European 'Partnership for Peace' [PFP] client states have just
completed joint training in the US. Countries included
"the PFP nations of Albania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic,
Estonia, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania,
Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan." (6)
The US is an old hand at getting proxies to die for them.
