A man found dead in his cell was reported to have strangled himself with his sweatshirt by tieing it around his neck and pulling it tight. The medical examiner ruled sucicide and disposed of the mans organs.(A wrongful death suit was settleted out of court in late 1996.)
A women and her daughter were maced and arrested for disorder conduct because they refused to let revenue agents seize property without a court order.(a criminal Jury trial found them not guilty a civil jury found unlawful arrest but awarded no damages the officier was promted one month before the civil trial)
A 25 year veteran of the police force was allowed to retire and recive full benifits while under investigation for rape of a police women int stations locker room.
A fiancecomittee member and his family weres threaten with death by police officiers for opposing bonuses for police officiers who attended college. five police officiers verbally attacked this man at the annual town meeting and intimidated the full body into giving bonuses up to $30,000.00 a year.
A patrol man recently was supended because of his herion addiction. He was caught by lowell police puchasing drugs while on his bicyle

It's disgusting how the majority of the american pubic holds these tyrants in such high regard. Any other person would be a shame to the community, and the media for such atrocities. i agree with you on this. i love in houston, tx and our law enforcement is very untrusting. they murder a friend of mine 5 yrs ago after already hancuffing him and had him pinned down with their foot. the asshole fired 2 shots into his back. he was only 17. his doing was harmless there was no reason for him to die. our government is turning to shit and it seems like there isn't any true justice. the cops were sent home with pay and later were back on the streets. i fear for my safety everytime i see a cop. it shouldn't be this way....

Every profession has "bad eggs" in the group, not just law enforcement. And it will always be this way unless departments hire people from outside the human race.
Cops are supposed to serve and protect....but instead use their "position" to harrass innocent individuals...We as taxpayers pay their salary so they can act like assholes and get paid for it...I live in Bridgeport Michigan and the cops here are....rude....out to get anybody for anything....pull you over trying to hang you under false pretences....ect....the usual. Even some of the State troopers are just plain pathetic.....I say we all carry a doughnut in our car at all times and hold it out of the window when we see one and give it to them when they pull us over.....next time they will pull us over for the doughnut or leave us alone!!!!!!!!

I realize that some things have been done by members of the Billerica Police department that are not very comendable, but do not allow these events to give a bad outlook on Billerica police officers ot the department. I recently had an internship with the Billerica Police department and got to know many people. I spent a great deal of timeat the station and in police cruisers. In my time with the department I saw many people doing good things, and rarely saw something I didn't like. I worked with officers of all ranks and learned a great deal from all of them. As for the stories on this web site, look around. No matter what field you work in there will always be some form of corruptiom. It is a part of life, there will always be certain individuals who do wrong, I just don't think, that it should reflect badly onthe entire department. I grew up in North Billerica 40 years ago===while I dont know about today, I can specifically state that all of the dept were wonderful then. I was 16==me and my friends always met after our dates were taken home at 12 midnight at the corner of Lowell rd and Canal st.(i think its gone now)===then w went to the diner to have a coffee and discuss the night. The poice knew some of us had been drinking, but as long as I was the driver, and as long as we went for coffee==they never bothered us, and actually commended us. I will never forget their fairness. There are alot of complaint,s where we live in Emmett,Idaho. Four or five church,s started gathering together asking the Lord to take care of the corrupt people and the good old boy and girl networking that goes on. People around the globe are praying for the Lord to take care of the garbage. We have faith He is going to do something awesome,we just do not know how he will do His work. Prayer moves the hand of God.
There are some good cops in Billerica, no doubt. But there are a few that go beyond (not to mention any names), and it's good to see two cops fighting when there is a disagreement. What angers me is that these cops who dissagree with the rest of the force (or the good half of it) think they can exceed the higher powers of the police force. This is probably true for any police force, but in Billerica, it seems to be in a whole big mess.
You trash talk cops until you need them, then all of a sudden they are your friends. If you ever get in the shit, expect me to respond in the other direction asshole.
I'd like to know if this author checked his sources for these "stories". I heard most of them growing up in Billerica, and with many variations i may add.
