In Des Moines, Iowa, home of nazi pig kops, where they even display
swaztikas on the courthouse walls with pride, a "night court" was
being held at the police station, in around 1980.
I was taken to this "night court" where I was told by a police officer
to sit on a bench. Behind this bench, on the wall, at about head
level, were what appeared to be bullet holes in the wall. I was handcuffed
and sat on the bench quietly. I had been arrested for disorderly
conduct. A cop walked over to me and said angrily "this is a
butchershop, what do you think of capital punishment." In an
adjacent room could be heard the sound of someone sawing something.
In front of me and to the left sat someone appearing to be a
"judge." Another cop was in the room also. On the way to the police
station these cops had asked me for money to give them.
The cop who spoke to me then spoke to the "judge" and stared at me.
The cop then said to me "we would like to show you the other side
of things." The "judge" then said to the cop "kill him." The cop
then walked over to where I was sitting quietly in handcuffs and
pointed his gun at my head and began to pull the trigger. He pulled
the trigger a ways with a angry and hateful look on his face, and
then suddenly stopped and looked up in surprise. About then two
more cops entered the "courtroom." One said to the other "what's
going to happen." The other cop pulled out his gun, pointed it at
the "judge" and said "there's going to be a nuclear war if you
put him down there." The "judge" became angry and said "put him
in a cell." I was then taken to a cell overnight and charged with
disorderly conduct.

I had a cop slash a ragged edged police knife across my throat once, so close it snagged on my beard -- scared me so bad the hair stood up on my arm. He then proceded to tell me (with butchery details I should probably not put on the net) how he could nearl decapitate me so fast I would be alive long enough to see the blood spurting up before I fell over, and then choke on the blood running down my trachea. He was telling me why I should not put in a complaint about the public strip-searching of a baby-sitter who laughed at the cops for arresting a young man practicing for his barber's license (the talcum powder looked suspicious) and the IAD investigator said the strip-searching was punishment for being laughed at. I turned in the complaint (basically a transcript of the testimony of witnesses) at the request of the illiterate mother of the barber after telling IAD and the Captain in charge of Community Relations and the Lieutenant in charge of Accreditation that I was told I was to be beaten by 2 guys not in uniform if I did not 'back off'. I also saw a doctor about how to recognize internal injuries, and a karate teacher on how to TAKE a beating, and checked out a couple of books on how to survive a mugging, and prayed about it, and went through with it. I was beaten to the pavement by by 2 guys not in uniform, in front of two uniformed cops who then left the scene) and have thought of the department as a haven for criminals ever since. (IAD justified the public/pubic strip-searching as investigating a 'loiterer' and did not investigate my complaint -- about my beating and the simultaneous gun-to-the-head threats to the barber by a uniformed officer. I've seen and experienced a lot, here since then (1991). Durham, North Carolina, City of Drugs and Thugs.
