This directory has listed people, grassroots organizations and the larger aid agencies who are working for peace in on all republics of FY. You will find a description of each group, their contact information and e-mail addresses. People who are concerned about the Former Yugoslavia will find this directly extremely helpful in connecting them with projects and people that they can help and work with. An early release is being distributed, but only 500 were printed. A larger run is expected in February. Anyone can write for the directory now to get a copy and I recommend you do it soon before the first edition is all gone! To order, you must send a check for $5.00 made out to "Helsinki Citizens Assembly/USA", earmarked for Balkan Directory. Sent to: Balkan Directory AFSC 15 Rutherford Place New York, NY 10003. The directory is a work in progress and they are seeking new entries. If you or anyone you know of would like to be listed, send materials to Working for Peace in the Balkans, c/o HCA/USA, PO Box 2391, New York, NY 10185. Individuals with speaking expertise, grassroots organizations, clubs, ad-hoc support groups, all are welcome. The book is divided by state, and by key words (such as Law, Education, Children, Medical, Art/Theatre, Reconstruction, etc.) It's really a fantastic undertaking and will be sent to libraries, peace groups, religious groups etc. Dorie Wilsnack is the publisher and is in Belgrade and Kosovo/a for three months, but she can still be reached by e-mail: doriew@igc.apc.org Ed Agro is posting the directory as a gopher site on the Internet and will distribute copies on disk for a small fee to cover costs. He can be contacted by e-mail at pnbalkans@igc.apc.org Please circulate this information. If you have a group with a newsletter, this can be reprinted as a news announcement concerning the conflicts in the Balkans.
