It no longer gets the top story in world news agencies and on TV stations. The suffering of the civilian population is no longer "popular" and does not cause pity, as in recent years. Those of us who live in this region know that the war continues. The environment in which we live is permeated with the practice and logic of war and militarism. We are witnesses to a state which performs acts of violence against women in their daily lives. This is carried out with the state's nationalistic-militaristic ideology and propaganda, so that women endure patriarchal violence in both the private and public spheres. Dear friends, Once again this year we invite you to join us, in order for us to express to one another the pain which should not be left silent, written only on our faces and bodies; so that animosity, vulnerability and sorrow leave us, and are not transformed into resignation and helplessness. Come to share joy and strength, sisterhood and friendship, to exchange experiences of non-violent action for peace in our women's resistance to war. Together we will create new strategies with which we will change the environment we live in, our lives, and ourselves. Come let us dream together, to imagine a new world without war, militarism and violence. We therefore ask you to bring any musical or creative instruments: guitars etc... Poets, bring your poems, the rest of you bring your favorite videos, cassettes - things that we will remember fondly. Nights on Fisherman's Island (Ribarsko Ostrvo) and the Danube, swimming, moonlit nights, your positive energy and the romantic countryside will overcome the sting of the mosquitoes. Biologists claim that it is only the female mosquito which bites, but with our strong feminist perspective we will ignore this minor nuisance. In sisterhood and tenderness, WOMEN IN BLACK ## CrossPoint v3.02 ##
