I would sincerely like to know, from your perspectives, just what your perceptions and expectations are of the current US incursion into your land's ancient conflict - stemming, as history tells us, from the turbulent times of the Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman Empires. As a truly "ancient warrior" (I am 65 and, after serving in all of my Nation's wars since the Korean adventure, retired from active duty), I have some knowlege of combat and the utter inhuman misery and pain that it entails. I also know that the US population has had little experience of this horror, since our land has not known undergone armed conflict for over 100 years. I can say, also, that in all of my years I have never known such a thing as a 'just' or 'good' or 'holy' war - and I doubt that anyone has. Therefore, it all seems to come down to 'politics'...that which is decided upon in the high councils of the mighty, notwithstanding the good of the realm or of it's people. As a student of history/human events and as a Mensan, I am casting this message-in-a-bottle into the cyber-sea...to gain some understanding of just what YOU - the people immediately involved in this strife - feel about all of this... both in your 'politics' and in your regular lives. Pax in Terram, Imsha'llah!
