My main point is to discover to what extent the government limits or tries to restrict the work of NGOs. I would therfore really appreciate it if anyone from any NGO would like to comment on this at all. Particularly I would be interested to hear from any organizations who have worked in the Krajina and thus compare their experiences of the authorities in that region when it was still being controlled from Knin. Some specific questions (though please don't hesitate to talk about anything at all - these are just particular areas of interest): Do national or local governments do anything to promote the activities of NGOs? Perhaps through state funds? Are there any formal or informal contact between NGOs and the state or local authorities, and on what basis? Can NGOs give advice and is it ever listened to? Does the government make it difficult to either start or continue as an NGO through laws and/regulation? Particularly I'm thinking of bureaucratic and administrative difficulties to make NGO work more difficult. What are the formal and inmformal restrictions on your work? This is just a start. If you would be interested in or able to help me in greater detail I would love to get in contact with you. My address is nazerali@mbox.fsv.cuni.cz I will be in Croatia over the summer as well so would love to hear from anyone willing to give an interview on this topic. Thank you very much Sean Nazerali
