Bennett You write pretty good propoganda. You, if a German, are aware your country supported the Croatians against the Serbs in WWII killing 500,000 of them? Nevertheless you're a big expert on what to do now. Why don't you expiate your collective guilt someplace else? "How seriously would Roosevelt and Churchill have taken Hitler's ravings if he had ranted that the allied military offensives in Belgium, / Holland, and France were "massive aggression" against "his" people." Not too seriously, but then Hitler didn't exactly call for negotiations to settle the war did he? You're saying because the Serbs are on the run a cease-fire should not be called? If the Serbs had used that logic assumedly the war would be over by now with overwhelming Bosnian casualties. "I suppose he means that there is something criminal about an independent state finally moving to reclaim its own territory and acting with justification against a ludicrous regime that - I think it can be repeated one final time - the UN itself accuses of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity." Gee the World Court is suspicously late to reach that finding since most of the casualties prior May 1 95 occured in 91-93. Could it be the "discovered" this "genocide" only after the Serbs failed to appreciate the benevolent nature of UN bombing and responded militarily by taking hostages? The first sentence of the BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA HUMAN RIGHTS PRACTICES, 1994 AUTHOR: U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE DATE: FEBRUARY 1995 says "The United States formally recognized the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of six constituent republics of the former Yugoslavia, as a sovereign state in April 1992, following a free and fair referendum in which 63 percent of its voters endorsed independence." "63 percent? There were 37% who DID NOT endorse independance. "Within days of the Republic declaring its independence, elements of the JNA, supported by Serbian nationalist militias, launched attacks. ." Congratulations to "80 countries, including the United States" for "recognizing" the creation of this country. It will take even a larger percentage to overide the veto Clinton has promised on the embargo, than it took to bring Bosnia into existence. "In July [l994] the Government switched to the German mark as its official currency and in October "officially" introduced the "Bosnian dinar"; however, the German mark remains the de facto currency." Lets make the currency of a country that murdered hald a million of us 50 years ago our official medium of exchange!
