  • DEKALB IL - Over the last several months, between May and August 2001, nearly a dozen Dekalb and Sycamore IL. residents have come forward with statements to the Dekalb IL. Police about a subject named SCOTT LISTY who has been regularly identifiying himself to others as an Illinois State Police Officer / Special Agent. According to several witnesses, SCOTT LISTY has also been seen wearing a black leather belt holster containing a gun while driving his personal vehicle, a late-model Chevrolet Impala equipped with front and rear flashing lights and a siren. SCOTT LISTY has told many witnesses that this is an official Illinois State Police vehicle assigned to him. This vehicle is green in color with dark tinted rear windows, and has several antennas mounted to the trunk lid. Several subjects have also reported being pulled over while driving and having their vehicles searched by SCOTT LISTY. SCOTT LISTY has been known to Identify himself as BOWTIE, OFFICER LISTY, OFFICER SCOTT, DETECTIVE SCOTT, DETECTIVE LISTY or SPECIAL AGENT LISTY. SCOTT LISTY has been known to carry a Illinois State Police badge, wear an Illinois State Police jacket, and is known to carry a gun. (as stated in numerous written statements to the Dekalb Police) Although the Dekalb Police have been notified on many occasions by many different people, no arrest has been made concerning this criminal Police Impersonation. On one occasion Officer Farrell of the Dekalb Police spoke with SCOTT LISTY about the alleged offenses, but SCOTT LISTY denied any knowledge. Officer Farrell requested that at least one WITNESS submit to a polygraph examination. SCOTT LISTY is employed by Custom Security Service of Dekalb, IL located at the intersection of Route 23 and Route 38 (Fourth St. and Lincoln Hwy) He is responsible for patroling business parking lots during the evening/early morning hours. SCOTT LISTY has a documented mental history. As of July 20, 2001 SCOTT LISTY has reportedly continued to identify himself to others as a Police Officer. This notice is posted as a PUBLIC WARNING. People with any information about SCOTT LISTY and his Police Impersonation activities are urged to contact the Illinois State Police or the FBI. Contacting the Dekalb Police has proven to have little or no effect, as even the death threats made by SCOTT LISTY against several witnesses have been brushed aside by the Dekalb Police Department.
