This is the true story of
NYPD police officer Kenneth Eurell.
On May 6 1992 six New York city police officers and one retired NY police officer(Kenneth Eurell) were arrested in a five month undercover drug operation.
The Suffolk county police dept. tapped the phone of a low level street dealer and soon found out that NYC police officers were involved in a multi-level drug operation.
Suffolf county in cooperation with the NYPD internal affairs unit arrested all of the officers involved and 49 civilians. The probe which lasted five months included undercover drug buys and electronic surveillance. Twenty-five vehicles were seized and over $30,000 in cash. Also seized was an undisclosed amount of drugs.
The cops acted as venture capitalists and pooled their money to buy cocaine from known Brooklyn drug dealers for resale in Suffolk county.
According to suffolk authorities the cops made purchases that amounted to four ounces at a time. Eurells admitted involement to the Southern District(which he later cooperated with in an ongoing undercover probe of his former partner and Columbian drug dealers) were purchases of up to one kilo.

Is it still True there are more than 10,000 police officers in New york City? Historically I know up to the late 1980s New York cops were so corrupt that no officers would be hired from within the State of New york since the criminal officers had been in control; but no one has really changed it. Where was serpico from NY? It sounds like the communities need to police themselves and make their own justice courts at the grass roots level, stop using or allowing them to work the people? How? Community actions, self defense? I heard the same story as this report in other usa cities, officers committing crime, buying drugs etc.

This is true in most cases in NY and every where you go. All the time you will find out that every department has some corruption but its just a question of how far they will go. Hopefully I will be wearing the badge eventually but just another question in your head is this there is others other than corrupt officers, such as the good ethical officers. But its great your taking a stand in corruption.
